A Migration Story Spanning Six Decades From the Son of Guest Workers to an Open Minded Citizen The remarkable life journey of a boy who arrived in Germany in the early 1960s at the age of eleven as the son of guest workers and, after sixty-five years, became a deeply rooted German citizen. This book tells the story of overwhelming first encounters with an unfamiliar culture, of conflicts, obstacles, and life-changing hardships that often seemed impossible to overcome. Yet the author achieves what once appeared unlikely: he builds a successful life, raises a large family, and embraces values that are more important today than ever before: Tolerance. Openness. Respect. His children grow up beyond the boundaries of nationalism and religion, shaped by an understanding that diversity is a strength rather than a threat. This is the story of how an uncertain young boy became a bridge between culture, a living example of acceptance, integration, and mutual respect. More than a personal memoir, this moving autobiography reflects the profound social changes that have shaped Europe over the past six decades. It is both an appeal for humanity and an honest reflection on political developments that give cause for concern while reminding us never to lose hope.
I am not only a writer, but I have also been active as a musician and composer for more than 50 years. I like to describe myself as a free spirit and a citizen of the world with an open mind. At the age of eleven, I came to Germany from Turkey as the child of guest workers. Today, I am the father of seven children and a grandfather to several grandchildren. From my earliest childhood and youth in Frankfurt, I developed a deep fascination for stories, the written word, and the Art of creating lyrics for music. I especially enjoy playing with language in my own form of "word washing", a creative space where hidden meanings, wordplay, and double meanings often reveal themselves. Now, in retirement, I have finally found the time and inspiration to bring my many book ideas to life. I have written several children books as well as a biography, which are soon to be published. Professionally, I spent most of my working life in sales and marketing. Yet writing and music were always my true passions, accompanying me throughout every stage of my life. In my free time, I enjoy being with my children and many grandchildren, finding inspiration in the small and often overlooked moments of everyday life. This book is the result of many years of dreams, experiences, and my deep love for literature. I hope it will inspire and move readers as much as the journey of writing it has inspired and moved me.
