Mehr Infos
They are gone.
They were forgotten.
But their traces still tell the truth.

Lena has vanished. Not simply missing, but erased by a world that has learned to look away. For most, she is just a file, a name without a face, another case buried in the system. But for Eliane, Anna and Carver, her disappearance marks the beginning of a journey into the shadows of a system that does not only abduct people but erases them physically, digitally and emotionally.

What they uncover is devastating.
A web of power, control and silence.
A system that turns women into objects, their bodies into commodities, their voices into threats.
A system that hides behind laws, institutions and the illusion of order.

Yet the trail Lena leaves behind is stronger than any cover up.
It leads to others who vanished before her.
To rooms without windows.
To files without names.
To voices that were never heard.
René Burkhard

René Burkhard

René Burkhard, born on February 13, 1958, in Zurich and now living in the Zurich lowlands, is a sensitive storyteller shaped by the calm and small observations of his rural childhood. He spent over 21 years as a vocational school teacher and witnessed how the education system often overlooked people. The last reform prompted him to leave his profession and channel his experiences into writing.

His literary debut was a love novel exploring human closeness with psychological depth. A revised edition delves deeper into the conflict between duty and longing. He followed with a family novel about intergenerational bonds and a thriller that combines suspense with psychological empathy.

His latest work reveals his most poetic side, with delicate stories about new beginnings, silence, and hope.

René Burkhard writes clearly, humanely, and touchingly. His characters breathe between the lines. He does not preach but accompanies quietly, leaving a lasting impression.
