Süßkind von Trimberg (or Suesskind of Trimberg) is known to us from the famous Codex Manesse as the author of 12 poems or songs from the 13th century, originating in what is now Bavaria. He is considered the oldest verifiable Jewish author writing in German, specifically Middle High German, and has been the subject of much discussion among the collection of medieval Minnesingers.
In this volume, the author presents his modern translations of these texts, which were completed over 20 years ago and also served as the basis for his new musical settings.
