The New Philosophy of Life

Until now, the common origin of life has generally been understood as the emergence of the first organism or the first cell. However, it is also possible to interpret all previous observations differently. Perhaps the true origin of life does not lie in a specific object, but in a specific state of Nature. In that case, the unity of life would not be the result of a one-off historical coincidence, but the consequence of general laws of Nature. It is not the first cell that is decisive, but the conditions under which the same organisational principles inevitably develop everywhere.
