Julie Collins, a college student from Chicago, is not having an easy time. After her beloved father, a United States Air Force pilot, dies during an overseas deployment, Julie is devastated. Never before has the young college student experienced such a shattering loss.

But she can't afford to take a break and fights her way back into life. Fate doesn't give her a break either, because no sooner has Julie recovered from the sudden and tragic death of her father than a new, hard and sudden blow of fate hits her and Julie is forced to come to terms with the new situation but she doesn't want to.
