Kenotomy and the Architecture of Ideation introduces Kenotomy as a structural theory of the Denkraum: the stratified field in which ideas emerge, gather energy, cross thresholds of rank, and become capable of renewing reality. Moving from the floating Totora islands of Lake Titicaca to Bauhaus and HfG Ulm, urban mobility, the Toyota Production System, and Einstein's conceptual revolution, George Teodorescu identifies a recurring architecture of renewal. Civilisations, institutions, technologies, and systems advance when they recover their governing orientation and release forms, assumptions, and burdens that have exhausted their generative force. The book develops a theory of ideational hierarchy, seminality, disruptivity, Kenos, Leitidee, and Permanent Renaissance. It offers a new framework for understanding creativity, design, innovation, and civilisational transformation as processes of oriented relinquishment. Written across philosophy, design theory, cultural analysis, and innovation studies, the volume presents Kenotomy as both an architecture of ideation and a method for distinguishing genuine renewal from novelty, proliferation, and change without orientation.
George Teodorescu is a university professor, creativity theorist, inventor, and founder of Kenotomy. He is Director of the International Institute for Integral Innovation and has taught and developed interdisciplinary programmes in creativity, design, innovation, and civilisational renewal. His work explores the architecture of ideation, the hierarchy and energy of ideas, the relation between creativity and abstraction, and the structures through which individuals, institutions, and civilisations renew themselves. He has developed concepts including Denkraum, Kenos, Permanent Renaissance, seminality, disruptivity, the Kenotomial Cascade, and the Horizon of Perennial Aspirations. Teodorescu's teaching, research, and project work connect philosophy, design, architecture, mobility, cultural development, and integral innovation across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. Kenotomy and the Architecture of Ideation presents the first complete monographic articulation of his intellectual framework. ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5091-7808
