It's Not Me, It's Them. Life is a Story - story.one

"Life is full of changes" they say, the good ones and the bad ones, I assume.
I reckon the thrill behind them is having to learn which ones you should embrace and which ones you should've rebelled against when you had the chance.
My big change came with a job offer that would have me live and work in New York. I'm aware there surely must be many delicious benefits to all of this, but as the days pass, I can feel how wrong everything is. There is something hidden behind all of these benefits, I know it. The problem is not knowing how to uncover it.
More and more strange incidents befall me, and I know They are all behind it. All of Them are in on it.
They act all nice and normal, but when I turn my back, I can hear Them whisper and laugh about me.
I know for a fact, that They're not alone, either. They are watching me constantly. I don't know what They want from me - what I could possibly possess that They need - but I am sure They are willing to do anything to get it from me.
