Jara Umbricht has been fascinated by stories ever since she was born in Switzerland in 2003. With big eyes and a wide smile she used to listen to her parents read aloud to her. Then she read everything she could find in her local library. Soon, this was not enough anymore, so Jara started writing her own stories. She has a never ending imagination, far too many ideas and never enough space on her book shelves. Apart from reading, she loves music, baking, and crocheting covers for her favourite books. Jara mostly uses her imagination to create fantasy worlds or dystopian cities, but ever since she started struggling with depression, she has been writing about her own experience with mental health issues. She is more at ease writing about this very personal topic in English. With I WISH I COULD SAY, Jara fulfilled her dream of being a published author.
