Eldorado is probably the most comprehensive study of Jeff Lynne's musical work to date. The first volume, already published, covers his early career with Idle Race and The Move in the sixties and then examines his years with the Electric Light Orchestra from 1970 to 1986. This sequel focuses first on the period from the late eighties to the end of the nineties, when Lynne's career as a producer and songwriter for other artists truly took off, while the output of his own material declined significantly. The second major section is devoted to Lynne's later phase and his late works. The volume is rounded off by a discography and concluding remarks. The entire work largely follows the chronology of events, with selected focal points and bundled facts to better illuminate the various facets and achievements of Jeff Lynne.
