commingled bodies - the intermixing of the components of multiple bodies into a single abstract context
[bodies of the self and of the other. bodies in profusion and bodies fragmented. bodies divine, rotting. touching bodies. bodies like a telephone, a sound, a subsong. female bodies. bodies purple and blue. bodies round and bodies parabolic. bodies like a provocation. two knees and you. something like love. bodies intersecting. bodies feral and domesticated. bodies tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. bodies so absolute they cease to speak, and they abstain from sound]
Like an amorphous confession, commingled bodies, through twelve short stories, evidences the detailed documentation and anatomical dissection of bodies that remain blurred.
Austrian-Turkish Aleyna Tüzel has been seduced by the pulse of the moving body, that body absolute, ever since she first flexed her feet. A former professional athlete transfigured through the process of trying to manipulate her body like a precisely calibrated instrument she today scientifically studies and works on what remains of the body when its pulsing stops. Inside her words she tries to document the fragile nexus of bodies interconnected and touching and the distinct frequency of their volatile trajectory throughout her female body. Above all, she herself remains a physical idea pulsing, something like a human, like a machine, like an abstraction.
