Robert Bredow, an early Nazi opponent, has seen it all from the inside. He was the Council Govenor and the director of the pre-trial detention centre in Hamburg during Germanys darkest history. In his manuscripts, he describes the atrocious unfolding of the Nazi regime, his experience with prisoners, the Gestapo and the juristiction. His bold resistance did not go unheard, and soon his own life was hanging on a very thin thread.
